Alisha Welch is the founder and operator of Mindful Balance Retreats a company that she started in the year 2013 to guide yoga students and teachers on adventurous journeys around the world. With over 20 years of experience traveling all over the planet and a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management from Arizona State University, Alisha is well equipped to guide less experienced travelers to the locations of their dreams all while staying focused on her great passion for yoga and wellness.

As a yoga instructor herself, Alisha’s style of teaching reflects upon the many teachers that she has studied with over the past 17 years, offering a varied and challenging practice of strength, stability and focus balanced with mindfulness and meditation. Over the course of her career Alisha has received many certifications that have cultivated her understanding of the health of the body and mind. Alisha has achieved a master’s degree in Holistic Nutrition and completed her 1000 hour Yoga Therapy Certification. She has also received many other trainings/certifications including personal training certs from American Council on Exercise and the National Association of Sports Medicine, and yoga teacher trainings from Sivananda Yoga in Woodbourne, NY  and Soul of Yoga in Encinitas, CA. As well as a Thai massage certification from the Sunshine Massage School in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Perhaps the most important thing to know about Alisha is that she is a voracious traveler and yoga student who is always ready for the next adventure and has had a near lifelong goal of helping others to manifest their own travel dreams. Though she now has extensive experience and connections around the world she started out as any enthusiastic yoga instructor with a serious wanderlust and the desire to turn her passion into a career. Because of this background it is important to Alisha that the retreats offered from Mindful Balance are anything but ordinary. She wants to organize retreats where her clients are able to customize their experience to make their trip as exciting, challenging, relaxing, cultured or as adventurous as they desire.
